A Gira Big Band é um coletivo de jovens músicos oriundos de bandas filarmónicas da região de Viseu que surgiu num contexto de formação ao longo de 4 edições do festival Que Jazz É Este? em Viseu, acompanhados pelo Colectivo Gira Sol Azul sob a direção de João Martins.
Este coletivo apresenta-se num concerto especial com a cantora Elisa Rodrigues que de lançou recentemente o álbum “As Blue As Red”, produzido por Luísa Sobral. Este disco segue-se a “Heart Mouth Dialogues”, em que interpretou temas de Bill Withers, Arthur Hamilton, dos Beach Boys, Police ou Nirvana, e à colaboração com os These New Puritans no álbum e digressão de “Field Of Reeds”, que a levou a pisar alguns dos maiores palcos mundiais, entre os quais o Barbican Centre e o Hollywood Bowl.

The Gira Big Band is a collective of young musicians from philharmonic bands in the Viseu region that emerged in a learning context over 4 editions of the festival Que Jazz É Este? in Viseu, accompanied by the Colectivo Gira Sol Azul under the direction of João Martins.
This collective will present a special concert with the singer Elisa Rodrigues who recently released the album “As Blue As Red”, produced by Luísa Sobral. This album follows “Heart Mouth Dialogues”, in which she interpreted songs by Bill Withers, Arthur Hamilton, the Beach Boys, Police or Nirvana, and the collaboration with These New Puritans on the album and tour of “Field Of Reeds”, which took her to some of the biggest stages in the world, including the Barbican Centre and the Hollywood Bowl.
